123buero is a Berlin based studio for graphic design and typography, set up by Timo Gaessner after graduating from Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam in 2002. Focussed on analytic thought and detailed craftsmanship, 123buero works with cultural institutions, commercial businesses and independent practitioners, consulting and implementing communication strategies and design concepts.

The studio’s moniker ‘123buero’ was chosen to gain an neutral position within a generic identity that enables to adapt to a large variety of assignments and concepts, driven by a knowing, yet naïve belief in progress and the ability of graphic design.

In addition, 123buero also provides comprehensive typographical consulting and develops custom made typefaces. The latest selection is now available at the studio’s recently established platform ‘MilieuGrotesque’, an independent publisher and distributor of typefaces and related publications.

This site shows a selection of our favourite projects and documents the studios’ practise and activities so far. If you need more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Sincerely yours,

Timo Gaessner
